Pleasantville hurdler Nia Ali advances at nationals
June 22, 2011 – 8:35 pmNia Ali of Pleasantville advanced to the semifinals of the women’s 100-meter high hurdles at the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eu-gene, Ore.
Ali, who won an NCAA hurdles title for the University of Southern California on June 11 in Des Moines, Iowa, won her heat Saturday in 12.73 seconds, placing fifth among those advancing.
Kellie Wells of Nike had the fastest qualifying time .
The semifinals are scheduled for 3:45 p.m. EDT with the final at 5:37 p.m.
